Lets jump it right off! Music is a form of poetry, with rhyming, and all that good shyt.. Most music within our radios of 2010 purpose is to get an audience dancing and something harmless to groove too right......
...... WRONG !
Not all artist, but a majority of big music artist within the pop-culture and hip-hop world have another purpose in music, the have a higher agenda. Artist including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kanye West, LilWayne, Young Geezy, and hundreds of more artist us the technique of Allegory.
But before i get to the FACTS we must know the TERMS !
The term is Allegory: The underlying meaning has moral, social, religious, or political significance, and characters are often personifications of abstract ideas as charity, greed, or envy.
In English: Allegory is the technique of how poets, writers, and artists say things but not to be take literal but looked at deeply.
A little something i learned from english class are the terms Conotation and Denotation.
Denotation: The Literal meaning of the word..
Conotation: Another meaning of a word. Ex: He said she was COLD, meaning mean not physically cold.
Understanding these two definitions are clues to help understand what the artist purpose in a song is..
I understand I will be hated for doing this.. but if the facts line up, what more can you say ??
